Folding the AdetCup

We have two easy folds.

C or U Fold

Pinch the sides of the cup to flatten it, then fold it in half to form the shape of a ‘C’ or a ‘U’. This is the most common AdeCup fold and recommended for beginners as it opens more gently than the ‘punch down’ fold.

Push Down Fold

Hold your AdetCup cup in one hand. With your free hand, place your finger on the rim of the cup, then push it down and pinch it to hold the position.

Once the cup is inserted, give it a push at the base to make the rim pop open.

Relax & Breathe

While sitting on the toilet, or standing with one leg up on the bathtub, gently separate your labia with your free hand.

Insert

Hold the folded AdetCup between your thumb and forefinger and push the curved edge of the folded cup into your vagina horizontally

Rotate

Once the AdetCup is in your vagina, grip the base of the cup (not the stem), and urn the cup one complete rotation - 360 degrees. This will create a seal.

Every body is different. Cervix height varies, but in most cases, the Adetcup will sit well below the cervix.

The stem sits inside the labia, making it easy to reach during removal. If inserted correctly, you shouldn’t be able to feel it.

How long can I wear my AdetCup?

The AdetCup can be worn for up to 12 consecutive hours, depending on your flow. It should be emptied, washed and rinsed a minimum of two to three times per 24-hour period.

Is it messy?

Using the AdetCup does require you to get a little more up close and personal with your flow, but it is clean and comfortable to use. Be sure to wash your hands well before inserting and removing, as well as after you’re finished reinserting.

I have a latex allergy. Can I use the AdetCup?

The AdetCup is made from durable, top quality, medical grade silicone that is suitable for use by those with latex allergies, because it is nitrosamine and latex-free.

Can you put your menstrual cup back in if you clean it off with a wipe?

Yes, you can. The wipes clean the cup when you don’t have access to water. Don’t forget though, at your earliest convenience, we still recommending using the adetWash and warm water to thoroughly wash your cup.

How much blood does it hold?

Our AdetCup Model 1 holds one full ounce of menstrual flow (30 ml) and Model 2 holds just over one ounce (32 ml). AdetCup Model 0 holds just over half an ounce (20 ml) of flow. For comparison, the average regular sized tampon holds about 5 ml of menstrual flow.
